My New Mo-Sys Lambda Remote Head With Roll Axis.
I asked my friends John Chater and Jay Farrington over at Chater Camera in Berkeley, CA. if I could come over, borrow a camera, and a set up my new remote head. I need to take some publicity photos and dial in the system. Then I put up the Roll Axis. The whole thing works great.

Something just for fun.
My good friend Patrick Roth, who is one of my technocrane ops, has been a CHP officer for many years. He is also the President of the Marin Area Squad Club. He is in charge of organizing events for this organization. We have collaborated on some graphics work together for some of these events. I help out with some Photoshop work for flyers and logos, and stuff like that. Most recently, I helped design a logo for a "3 gun challenge" event he was in charge of. I was invited to the event and decided to cover it with my still camera. It was well organized and a huge success. I am sure that this was the first annual of many more to come. I was also lucky enough to go through the course too.Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Terri Timely
Production Company: Terri Timely
Directors: Corey Creasey and Ian Kibby
DoP: Donavan Sell
Two commercials, one for Pandora and the other for a French grocery store chain celebrating their 50th anniversary. The Pandora commercials can be seen on my videos page or at the Terri Timely link above. The Terri Timely team is very creative and super cool to work with.
H&R Block
Production Company: Moxie Pictures
Director: DoP: Russell Carpenter
This was the "Get your billion dollars back America" campaign.
There wasn't a lot of "techno" moves on this one, however the crane saved lots of time due to it's flexibility. Patrick Roth and Todd Snyder assisted me during the 5 days of shooting.
The Age of Adaline
Director: Lee Toland Krieger
DoP: David Lanzenberg
The Age of Adaline is an upcoming feature that I happened to be lucky enough to be a part of. What a great crew. It was a second unit crew so we were fast and agile... even with the techno.
The SL Pod from GEO films was all that was needed for the Red Dragon. Super small and
super light wight. In fact a bit to light, extra weight had to be added to the front of the techno just to achieve balance.
Salesforce
This is a corporate piece for Salesforce.
The shot was of this very cool all electric Zero motorcycle speeding off
down the "perverbial" deserted road. This bike is made locally in Santa Cruz
and was one hell of a cool bike. Check em out on the link below
Lewis Black "The Rant is Due"
My friend Jimi Dunn called and needed another remote head operator for a Lewis Black
comedy show that was shot in Napa (before the quake). Jimi had 3 of his mini Jimmy Jib
remote heads on the job. I got to sit on a chair all night, enjoy some comedy, and the
company of the other remote head operator Christina.
Good times had by all.
Ryder Trucks
Production Company: Slim Pictures
Director: Drea Cooper
DoP: Eric Treml
This shot was of some dancers shot from straight overhead and booming down straight
to just over their heads while the camera was rotating in 360 degree fashion. The shot was part of a commercial for the Ryder truck company. The technocrane was the only way to go for this job.The straight down shots are always tough. To keep the camera in a straight line all the way down while spinning was a challenge. The client was happy and so were we.
Paul McCartney at Candlestick Park
Paul McCartney and the last show at Candlestick Park.
This was for some footage that will be used in a documentary about Paul McCartney.
Listen an indépendant film
Listen is an independent film shot in the small towns of the San Joaquin Valley
of California. It deals with the issues and problems that todays youth face.
Super nice crew to work with and fun to be a part of an "indie" again.
Shark Tank 2014 Season Cold Open
Production Company: Finnmax
Director/DoP: Alex Van Wagner
I have had the privilege to work as a jib operator for Alex on The Voice. Alex is also the Director/DoP for that show, so he asked if I would help shoot the "cold open" for this seasons
Shark Tank. I used the 24 foot Triangle and the footage looked great. Check it out this season.
Chelsea Peretti "One of the Greats"
Production Company: New Wave Entertainment
Director; Lance Baggs
Chelsea Peretti did her latest comedy show "One of the Greats"
at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. I used the 24' Jimmy Jib Triangle.
Sense8
Sense8
Production Company: Unpronounceable Productions
Director(s): Lana & Andy Wachowski
DoP: John Toll
Sense8 is a new show for Netflix. We were shooting on the 290mm side of a
24-290mm so the Libra head was requested for the techno.
Hiro Narita operated the head
and I was solo on the crane.
2014 Lincoln
This was a series of spots for the new Line up for Lincoln.
I used the Techno for this and the Alpha stabilized head from
GEO films. The Alpha is a great remote head when stabilized
is required.
Dennis Miller "America 180"
Production Company: New Wave Entertainment
Dennis Millers' "America 180" comedy special for
Epix was shot at the Barclay Theatre in Irvine, California.
I used a 12' Jimmy Jib 3. It has a much smaller visual foo
print when shooting in smaller venues.
Food Truck Face Off
24' Jimmy Jib Triangle
I shot only one episode of this show to cover for another jib operator friend of mine. Lynton Vandersteen shot the rest of the episodes.
